GDO - Great Day Out いい一日だった！

Wednesday was my first full "day off" since my arrival to Tokyo. It's been a whirlwind of interviews, orientations, first days at work and temporary homelessness, all packed into short and intense seven days. So it was with gratitude and utter joy that I had the opportunity to spend most of the day with Kirin from Tokyo Kawaii, Etc on what turned out to be a spectacular warm Spring day.
 水曜日は東京に来たから、「休み日」っぽいのはじめて。
一週間で色々な事があったね～。
面接とか、オリエンテーションとか、ホームレスになちゃったとか(*´σｰ｀)
バタバタだね。 ε=ε=ε= ヾ(*~▽~)ノ
だから凄くよかった、 Tokyo Kawaii, Etcのキリンさんと一緒にその一日過ごした。 o(^▽^)o

We walked around Nakameguro, which has one of the most famous hanami (cherry blossom viewing) spots in Tokyo, along the Meguro River. Don't believe me? Here are the photos to prove it:

天気も良いし！

But you know, after walking around, looking at flowers and talking non-stop, you can get a bit hungry. So we had a quick peek at the stalls lined along the river and found:
でもね。
花を見て、色々なところに歩いて、ずっと話して、お腹がすいちゃうよ！(*ﾟｰﾟ*)
屋台を見に行った、これを見つけた！

Nikumakionigiri! The Miyazaki specialty! Looks like Miyazaki's never far away.肉巻きおにぎりだ！宮崎はいつも近いね～あまり寂しくないね、これをみたら～ (Ｔ▽Ｔ;)

Most of the stalls had this sign in support of the Tohoku region and were collecting money for the victims - "Fight, Japan!"　運、頑張ろう！　かわいいな！p(^-^)q

We decided to walk around Daikanyama to find our lunch though and decided on Monsoon, an Asian-style chain restaurant. They had an irresistable 1000 Yen buffet deal that we couldn't resist. Also, they had a patio where we could sit outside and enjoy the fine weather while nomming and (still, endlessly) chatter away.
その後、ちょっと代官山に行って、モンスーンでランチ食べた。
めっちゃやすっ！
しかも美味しかった～！
１０００円ブッフェ、イェイ！(*^-^)b

The stairs led up to a deck-style dining area, nice!　いい感じだ！

We chose the table behind the door though, easier to fill up our plates!　外で座った、凄く良かった～

You order one main and the rest is all-you-can-eat. I had red curry soup, Kirin had their most popular dish "Kabao" fried rice(?)　メーンはひとつ、あとはブッフェ/食べ放題、飲み物もいっぱいチョイスがあった！あたしはレッドカレーのほう、キリンさんは名物のカバオ炒めご飯だ！

And then more walking around Daikanyama. There were sooo many interesting and cute stores, small streets and hideaways. It's definitely become a fast favourite of mine. I love Harajuku, but Daikanyama is less crowded and a teensy bit more sophsticated, without being snobby. And there were plenty of cafés...more importantly *coffee shops* that are waiting to be explored. Among the interesting shops though, there was one in particular that stood out:
その後は、代官山で散歩～。（‐＾▽＾‐）
代官山、大好き～！
はじめてだけど、めっちゃめっちゃ好きになちゃった！(^з^)-☆Chu!!

Bits of a bicycle, radio speaker.... we also found a Game Boy Advance and a computer motherboard!　色々なものあった！ラジオとか、自転車チェーンとか・・・

I liked his nails best though　これが一番気になったけど

This was to the side, part of the same store　これもなんかかっこいな～

Unrelated to the store, but I just love how you can spot the bad guy by "BAD MAN" written on his jacket. If only it were so easy! 「Ｂａｄ　Ｍａｎ」とはちゃんと書いた！分かりやす過ぎじゃないの！？！？f^_^;

And, as tradition dictates, there is no true, proper outing without some purikura!! (At this point we actually walked all the way to Shibuya! How's that for exercise!? XD)
そして、渋谷まで歩いちゃった！
渋谷に行ったら、プリクラは当たり前だろう～

You don't need cosmetic surgery in Japan, there's purikura for that!　美容整形いらない～ (///∇//)

Temporary collagen injection or perhaps a nose job?　今日、何をしようかな～ (*^.^*)

We ended up pretty bright/pale　なんか、まぶしい！

They had a Swedish flag, but we were too slow to pick it ;P　スウェーデンの旗あったのに、遅すぎる、あたし！

And so starting with flowers and ending with prettier ones (too cheesy?), thus ends a Spring day in Tokyo, with more cherry blossom pics to come. (^^)b
